Description

The Frigidaire 241941007 Refrigerator Compressor Starter initiates the compressor motor by supplying the electric stimulus needed to start the compressor motor, and turns off when the compressor motor is at normal operating temperature. It is connected to the compressor terminals on the back bottom of the refrigerator and fits in the compressor compartment with plug-in terminals into the wiring harness and overload protector. The starter is linked to the windings of the compressor and the control circuit, and also regulates the flow of the current in the circumstances of the start-up.

Step 1: The appliance is disconnected from the power supply. It is ensured that all electrical sources to the appliance are turned off prior to undertaking any task.

Step 2: The back panel of the appliance is taken off to find the starter.

Step 3: The wires are detached from the existing starter. It is ensured that the wire connections on the starter assembly are documented.

Step 4: The two screws that secure the starter are unscrewed. The starter is extracted and disposed of.

Step 5: The new starter is obtained and placed where the old unit was situated.

Step 6: The two screws are reinserted and the starter is firmly fastened.

Step 7: The wires are reconnected to the new starter, confirming that each wire is attached to the same terminal as it was on the previous starter.

Step 8: The back panel is reattached and the appliance is reconnected to the power source.

Step 9: The functionality of the new starter is verified by initiating normal operation of the appliance.
