Product Overview:

\n

Controls lid security and status within the appliance. The Whirlpool W11513248 Washer Lid Lock Assembly engages with the corresponding lid strike to secure the washer lid during designated cycle stages. It also communicates lid-status information to the appliance control system, allowing the washer to coordinate lid security with programmed wash functions. The assembly forms part of the washer's electronic lid-control and locking system, connecting the physical locking mechanism with the appliance's control circuit.

\n

Locking Mechanism:

\n

Engages with the corresponding lid strike to maintain the lid in a secured position during applicable washer-cycle stages. The locking components are housed within the assembly to provide controlled engagement and release

\n

Wash Cycle Integration:

\n

The lid lock assembly operates as part of the washer's cycle-control system by coordinating lid security with wash and spin operations. When the washer requires the lid to remain secured, the locking assembly engages and prevents the lid from opening during the applicable portion of the cycle. This connects the physical lid-locking mechanism with the washer's programmed operating sequence.

\n

Replacement Guidelines:

\n

Replacing the Washer Lid Lock Assembly is appropriate if it is damaged, malfunctioning, excessively worn, or otherwise deteriorated. Verify part number W11513248 and the complete washer model number before replacement. Replace the lid lock assembly if deterioration affects lid-locking function or normal washer operation.

\n

Common Failure Symptoms:

\n\n

Equipment Compatibility:

\n

The W11513248 is used in Whirlpool washer configurations that incorporate an electronic lid-locking system. Compatibility varies by washer model and control configuration. Verify the washer model number and applicable manufacturer parts documentation before purchasing.
