Step 1: Prior to commencing, it should ensure that the necessary tools for this task are readily available. A Phillips head screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver, and an adjustable wrench will be required.

Step 2: Safety should be prioritized! The washer should always be disconnected from the power source before initiating any repairs. This precaution will help avoid accidental shocks or potential damage to the appliance.

Step 3: With your Phillips head screwdriver, the screws from the top panel of your washer should be extracted. The panel should be gently lifted off and set aside.

Step 4: The suspension rod and spring should be found situated towards the rear of the washer. The rod is sizable and is likely to have plastic caps at both ends. The spring is a metal coil that is affixed to the rod.

Step 5: Utilizing an adjustable wrench, the plastic caps from the rod and spring should be unscrewed. After these are removed, the rod and spring can be safely extracted by pulling them out of their mounting locations.

Step 6: The new suspension rod and spring should be inserted into their designated mounting holes. The plastic caps should be reattached, ensuring they are firmly secured.

Step 7: After the suspension rod and spring have been replaced, the top panel should be reattached. It should be placed back into its original position and fastened with the same screws that were previously removed using your Phillips head screwdriver.

Step 8: Your washer should be reconnected and a cycle should be initiated to verify that the suspension rod and spring are functioning correctly. If everything operates smoothly, you are all done!
